Our polypropylene syringes are manufactured only from high purity, laboratory grade polypropylene and polyethylene resins, containing no rubber or styrene parts, or silicone oil lubricants.
The polypropylene barrel and the polyethylene plunger - the two components of the syringe assembly - are made as unitary pieces from materials that are very inert and unreactive towards most laboratory solvents and chemicals, making these syringes very suitable for measuring, adding or transferring deuterated NMR solvents and sample solutions, chromatography solvents and fractions, aqueous analytical samples of all kinds and most other general laboratory uses.
Each syringe barrel features a positive safety stop molded into the inner surface near the top, preventing accidental separation of the plunger from the barrel which could, in turn, result in a spill and exposure of laboratory personnel to potentially hazardous materials.
The one-piece molded construction of the syringe barrel includes an integrally formed male Luer slip-tip, connecting securely to both Luer-lock and slip-tip style needle hubs of metal or plastic construction.
When joined to a suitable size of our PTFE Syringe Tubing having a Luer-lock hub, a very convenient system is easily assembled, allowing access to the bottom of small inner diameter NMR tubes for bubble-free filling with viscous solvents from the bottom up, or passage through the narrow valve orifice of Valved NMR Tubes to the bottom of the tube, for adding or retrieving sample solutions.
The syringe barrels are clearly and accurately graduated in mL, simplifying laboratory measuring tasks, such as the addition of solvent and samples to NMR tubes.
All syringes are individually strip-packed, maintaining the original sterility and cleanliness of each until the packaging is opened.
